Biography

Allan Nilsson, a Louisville based guitarist, pianist, and composer, graduated with a double major in Jazz Composition and Guitar Performance from the Berklee College of Music in 2020. He has been teaching piano and guitar lessons since before he started his college career and continued to develop his ability as a teacher by tutoring Berklee students in the core music subjects.

He released his first album, “Sketching the Sky,” in early 2020 with co-writer Travis Frank. Additionally, Allan has been creating a new song every week with the Breakout Chronicles, a group based in three different states that creates music based on its patrons.

Prior to moving to Boston to study jazz, Allan was based in Dallas, Texas, where he studied, played, taught, and composed music. He was a founding member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra's Jazz Institute, and for two years played in various combos on both guitar and piano. Several of the public performances included his arrangements and original compositions. Allan also gigged weekly in a guitar/vibraphone duo in the Denton area and had returned during school breaks for additional performances.
